Pou Chen cancels employment policy following strikes

Local press have reported that footwear group Pou Chen has cancelled a controversial new employment policy due to a strike at Vietnamese factory.

There are reports that 17,000 employees out of about 21,600 workers at the plant in Bien Hoa City went on strike over company policies that cut their salaries for missing work.

Pou Chen, which makes shoes for Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Asics and Under Armour among others, said production has not been affected.
