Nike’s third quarter revenue hits $8bn

Sportswear giant Nike has increased revenues by 8% in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, to reach $8 billion.

Revenues for the Nike brand were $7.6 billion, up 15%, driven by growth in all regions and nearly all categories.

Revenues for Converse were $489 million, down 5%.

Orders for Nike brand athletic footwear and apparel scheduled for delivery from March 2016 until July 2016 are 12% higher than orders reported for the same period last year.

Its CEO, Mark Parker, said innovation gives the company a foundation for growth for years to come.

Last week, he outlined some of the developments in the pipeline for this year.
