Outdoor Industry Award winners selected
A total of 37 products will receive an Outdoor Industry Award this year, eight of which will be rewarded for outstanding innovation with a Gold Award. The winners will be revealed on July 13, the first day of the 2016 Outdoor show.

A record 343 products entered this year’s competition and so it was a tough job for the six judges who sat on the Outdoor Industry Award expert panel. They evaluated and selected the winning products and technologies, which had to show high innovation and great design, as well as other values such as sustainability and workmanship.

This year’s judging panel consisted of: Mark Held, general secretary of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), Boris Gnielka, Editor Testing/Technology Outdoor magazine, Natasha Bloemhard, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Salt magazine, Bastian Wagner, Department Manager Outdoor and Mountain Sports Sport Gruner Constance, designer Ke Hai Truong and alpinist Tamara Lunger.

“This year, there was a broad range of experience from ultra-technical fibre and textile knowledge to 8,000m mountaineering,” said Mr Held, adding that this meant the technical aspects of each entry were especially scrutinised on this occasion.
