The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2016, has unveiled plans to plant or regenerate two million trees around the world. The project will be officially launched at the organisation’s Outdoor show on July 13.

The number represents the €2 million in funding that EOCA has raised and spent since it was founded in 2006. EOCA is asking member companies, representatives of the outdoor industry and individuals are being asked to help in the replanting, re-wilding, restoring and regenerating of trees, shrubs, bushes and mangroves.

“We are very excited to see this project taking shape.  To date, the Association has funded the planting of 640,000 trees,” said Catherine Savidge, joint general manager of EOCA. She added that the organisation has committed “funding to support 5 projects all focusing on tree planting and regeneration”.
