EOCA opens spring conservation vote

12/03/2018
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has announced the public can now vote on which conservation projects it should support this spring.

EOCA has been organising the vote for the past eight years as part of its public conservation funding initiative. It is now a bi-annual event.

It has approved three separate shortlists in the following categories: mountain, forest and water. The project in each category that receives the most votes from the public will gain funding of up to €30,000.

Tanya Bascombe, joint general manager of EOCA, explains: “As well as raising awareness of what the European outdoor industry and EOCA’s member companies are doing to conserve and protect wild spaces, the voting process is a hugely beneficial opportunity for all of the conservation organisations involved.”

Full details of all the projects on the shortlists can be found here. The public has until March 23 to register their vote.
