Outdoor industry association calls for public help in allocating funding

12/10/2015

The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is asking the public to vote for a conservation project that will be supported with €90,000 raised from the outdoor industry.

It is the second consecutive year it has been able to offer a second funding round, after growing support from members.

During July, the association received 92 applications from conservation organisations working in 58 countries and has drawn up a shortlist.

The project with the most votes on EOCA’s website will receive the funding. Votes close on October 19.

Catherine Savidge, general manager at EOCA, said: “Due to the generosity of the association’s 127 members, a total of €280,000 is being spent this year on conservation. This is a great opportunity to have your say in how the funds generously donated by brands are spent.”

The European Outdoor Conservation Association is an initiative from the European outdoor industry with the objective of protecting wild areas.
