EOCA delight as fundraising at OutDoor doubles

15/08/2014
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has said the generosity of visitors to the 2014 OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen in July meant it was able to raise more funds than ever before at the event.

In the course of the show’s four days, EOCA raised nearly €31,000 for conservation projects. The Swiss-based organisation’s joint-manager Catherine Savidge said this was double the amount it has raised at OutDoor in the past and was enough to allow EOCA to sponsor an extra conservation project this year.

A total of 34 members of EOCA, outdoor brands from across Europe and beyond, donated gear for auctions and other fundraising events on each day of the exhibition. Prizes donated included T-shirts, jackets, boots, packs and skis.

A number of members held events around the fair to raise further funds for EOCA.
