Sportswear brand New Balance was officially opened a new US distribution centre in St Louis, Missouri, which will support the rapid growth of the company’s e-commerce business. The Boston-based brand has been investing heavily in the area in recent years.

“New Balance is proud to make this significant investment in our e-commerce business and in the St. Louis area, which has become the centre of our global e-commerce development,” said Rob DeMartini, President and CEO of New Balance, at the grand opening. He added that the new centre was a “symbol of our growth as a brand”.

The new facility employs 36 people and will process up to 60,00 orders of footwear, apparel and accessories each month. It will support New Balance’s online platform for consumers in the US and the centralised location will allow products to be delivered to consumers faster. It will also allow same-day order fulfillment for the majority of the customers, according to the company.
