Skechers eyes expanded presence in South Korea
US footwear brand Skechers has formed a joint venture with Luen Thai Enterprises to manage its distribution network in South Korea.

The company says the venture, which will take on the name Skechers Korea, will enable it to “use its proven sales and marketing strategies to further expand the brand in one of our key international markets”.

LS Networks was previously responsible for the distribution of Skechers products in the country, have carried out the function since 2009.

“With a dedicated team from our previous distributor, LS Networks, and the knowledge and acumen of our Skechers China team, we believe we can profitably grow our business in South Korea and truly penetrate the region with a strong presentation from our vast collection of men’s, women’s and kids’ footwear,” said David Weinberg, chief operating and financial officer of Skechers.
