US footwear brand Skechers finished 2017 with full-year sales of $4.16 billion, which represents growth of 16.9% compared to the previous year.

This record performance came off the back of a 24.3% increase in the company’s international wholesale business and a 21.9% increase in its global retail business. Its domestic wholesale revenue increased 4.1%.

Skechers chief executive, Robert Greenberg, described 2017 as “a monumental year” for the brand, explaining that it was the first time it has exceeded $4 billion in annual sales.

He added: “This growth is due to our continued focus on efficiencies and infrastructure as well as innovation, comfort, and relevancy within our product design.”

By the end of 2017, Skechers said it had 2,570 global locations.
