Record year for Skechers
US footwear brand Skechers saw its sales increase 13.2% in 2016 to $3.56 billion. This marked a record annual performance.

Robert Greenberg, CEO of Skechers, said it had been “another significant growth year for Skechers”, driven by its “aggressive revamping of product lines”.  He added that the growth of the brand’s international sales was especially pleasing. He predicted that the success would continue in 2017, which represents Skechers’ 25th anniversary.

The company also achieved a record in the fourth quarter of 2016, with sales increasing 5.8% to $764.3 million. David Weinberg, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said it was the result of a 17.1% increase in its international wholesale business, with sales in China particularly strong.
