Columbia releases Star Wars collection

The collaboration sees the creation of three high-performance jackets inspired by the clothing worn by characters in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, which is due to be released later in December.
The jackets are named after three of the film’s characters. The Jyn Erso Rebel Jacket is made from stretch twill cotton and comes with an insulated vest that can be worn separately or layered with the jacket. The Captain Cassian Andor Rebel Parka has a reflective lining that keeps in body heat and a waterproof, breathable fabric to keep the wearer dry and comfortable. The Imperial Death Trooper Jacket is based on Columbia’s OutDry Extreme Diamond Shell Jacket.
Columbia said its design team worked closely with Disney throughout the project to ensure the jackets, which are designed to cope with a cold, wet winter, are “an authentic representation for discerning Star Wars fans”.
“Star Wars is arguably the most globally recognisable film franchise in the world, and presents us with an unparalleled opportunity to showcase our brand and premier technologies,” said Joe Boyle, vice president of brand merchandising and design at Columbia.
