Pakistan’s textile exports rise in November

21/12/2016
Textile exports from Pakistan were valued at $1.05 billion in November, a 9.7% increase year-on-year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

This increase was primarily driven by value-added products, which has benefited from Pakistan’s preferential access to the European Union (EU) market.

Exports of ready-made garments rose 12.7%, knitwear exports were up 11.92% and exports of bedwear were 2.3% higher.

In the first five months of Pakistan’s fiscal year (to the end of November), the total value of textile and clothing exports fell 1.94% to $5.12 billion.
