Boost for Pakistan’s textiles sector

16/03/2016
Pakistan will reduce the value added tax (VAT) on textiles to 0% from July, in order to stimulate exports.

The Federal Minister for Commerce, Khurram Dastgir Khan, made the announcement during the Textile Asia 2016 Exhibition in Karachi.

The country’s apparel making sector is also benefiting from joining the list of Generalised System of Preference (GSP) Plus countries in January 2014, which means many products can be exported to Europe without incurring duties.
