Under Armour’s baseball deal brought forward

19/05/2017
Sports brand Under Armour has confirmed that it will start supplying the official uniforms for teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2019, a year earlier than previously thought.

The company announced the 10-year deal in December 2016. It will provide all on-field components including jerseys, baselayers and outerwear, as well as year-round training apparel for all 30 clubs in the league.

US baseball commissioner Rob Manfred revealed in a recent interview that fan apparel from Under Armour will be available in 2018, before the full switch to Under Armour for on-field kit ahead of the 2019 season. The deal had been due to start in 2020.

Under Armour later confirmed the news in a statement released to the media.
