ICAC elects new executive director

22/06/2017
The members of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) have selected Kai Hughes as the organisation’s new executive director. He will become the seventh person to hold the role since 1949.

Its interim executive director, Terry Townsend, will serve until August 31, before Mr Hughes takes over on September 1. Mr Townsend will remain at ICAC for a few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

ICAC announced in February 2017 that its previous executive director, José Sette, has signalled his intention to step down at the end of his contract in April in order to pursue other professional challenges.

Mr Hughes joins ICAC after nine years as managing director and CEO of the International Cotton Association (ICA).
