Cordura uses Cotton Inc. technology in new fabric collection
Functional fabric developer Cordura has continued its collaboration with Cotton Incorporated with the creation of a new collection of performance fabrics that use two of Cotton Inc.’s moisture management technologies.

The new quick-dry fabrics are the latest additions to Cordura’s portfolio of fabrics based on its Nyco fabric technology.

The two Cotton Inc. technologies that Cordura has used are TransDRY and Storm Cotton.

TransDRY is a technology for cotton that allows fabrics to wick and spread perspiration. It is applied to cotton yarns to reduce their ability to absorb water. TransDRY fabrics are designed to dry faster, which helps them from becoming over-saturated during physical activity.

Storm Cotton is a finish applied to cotton fibres to repel liquids, while still allowing moisture vapour to pass through the fabric and move away from the body. This helps to keep the wearer cool and comfortable. Garments made with this technology are designed to dry faster.

The new collection will be officially unveiled at the forthcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, US (July 26-29). Both the Cordura and Cotton Inc. booths will show new jersey knits, fleece fabrics and concept pieces from the collaboration, as well as woven fabrics featuring TransDRY and Storm Cotton technologies from Cordura brand authorised mills, Artistic Milliners and Chia Her.
