Deadline extension for Textile Institute World Conference

Organisers of the Textile Institute World Conference, which is taking place at the UK’s University of Leeds next July, have extended the deadline for submissions to January 31.

The theme "Integrating Design with Sustainable Technology" is focused on establishing interdisciplinary engagement through technology, design, sustainability and research. 

Topics include advanced fibres and materials manufacture, biomaterials, circularity and new business models, fibre and fabric functionalisation, footwear, innovative fabric structures and smart textiles.

Titles for proposed papers, with a 200-word abstract, should be submitted via the department’s website.

The Department of Textile Industries was one of the university’s original departments, established at the start of the 20th century, due to the area’s strong links with the textile manufacturing industry.
