Brooks confirms plans for first customised running shoe

29/05/2018
Brooks Running Company has announced it will launch its first personalised performance running shoe at the start of 2019. It will be created using the Fitstation technology developed by HP.

The shoe, which Brooks has called Genesys, will have a limited release of 1,914 pairs in the US before being made available globally.

Runners will be able to have their feet scanned using FitStation technology, which is available at select US locations. It carries out 3D foot scans, dynamic gait analysis and foot pressure measurements, resulting in the creation of a unique digital profile.

Brooks combines this information with its own Run Signature principles, which indicate the best way to enhance the wearer’s comfort and improve their running performance.

The Genesys shoes will be assembled by US insole maker Superfeet at its manufacturing facility in Ferndale, Washington using a DESMA polyurethane injection-moulding machine.
