Specialist phase change materials (PCM) provider to the textile industry Outlast used a recent blog post on its dedicated site oulastdifference.com to give more details about three recent products that have featured its technology.

The first is the NMD_R2 summer shoes from adidas. Outlast coated fabrics are used in the liner material and mesh. This offers a combination of high capacity to store heat and maximum breathability. The company has said these fabrics are ideal for shoes, gloves, helmets and backpacks.

Outlast technology is also available as a fibre fill for jackets, outer layer products and sleeping bags. It is in this form that Bugatti has incorporated it into its 772500 quilted jacket.

The final product further shows the versatility of Outlast technology. Again in the form of coated materials, it has been integrated into the Wrap Elite Aqua Campione goalkeeping gloves from UK-based football equipment brand Sells. Outlast has said the material’s high capacity to store heat makes it especially suitable for use in close to skin multi-layer products like shoes, jackets, headware and gloves.
