Outlast prepares for Performance Days

Specialist phase change materials (PCM) provider to the textile industry Outlast will use the forthcoming Performance Days exhibition in Munich (May 8-9) to present a new nylon filament yarn that features its technology.

The company has said this yarn integrates the PCM technology directly into the polyamide fibre. This will allow for an expanded range of next-to-skin applications, including compression garments, sportswear and hosiery.

Earlier this year, Outlast introduced new products that use 100% recycled polyester as their base material. The company has pointed out that the majority of its phase-change materials come from renewable sources, rather than being synthetically produced.

Ahead of Performance Days, Dirk Keunen, Outlast’s director of sales, said: “We are convinced that ‘feeling just right’ gives consumers what they expect from today’s smart and fashion-designed products. While our temperature and humidity control is designed to increase wear comfort – the real beauty of function as we think - we also continue to address the peace-of-mind comfort with our new sustainable innovations.”
