Lenzing highlights benefits of Tencel for home products

Cellulosic fibre producer Lenzing introduced its Tencel Refibra fibres for the home and interior market at the 2019 Heimtextil exhibition in Frankfurt (January 8-11).

Refibra is a technology that Lenzing has developed to upcycle cotton scraps. These are then combined with Tencel lyocell fibres, which are derived from wood pulp.

Among the properties of Tencel fibres that make them suitable for products like bed linens and duvets are their high moisture absorbance and their smooth surface, which offers a gentle skin feel. 

Lenzing has said a new identification system it has developed allows its Tencel fibres to be identified in the final, offering transparency across the whole processing chain.
