Lenzing recognised for its sustainable wood sourcing practices
Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing has announced that it has again been rated the number one global producer of wood-based fibres. Known as the Hot Button ranking, the list it topped is compiled by Canadian environmental group Canopy. 

“We are proud of this top ranking. It underpins our role as a leader in sustainability and gives our customers confidence that we have the right practices in place to prevent the use of wood and pulp from ancient and endangered forests”, says Stefan Doboczky, Chief Executive Officer of Lenzing. 

The ranking is based on a number of criteria including: completion of Canopy-led audits, adoption of robust forest sourcing policies, transparency and traceability, and innovation.

Among the other companies to feature on this year’s list are Aditya Birla (2nd), Nanjing Chemical Fibre Group (5th) and the Formosa Chemical and Fibre Company (12th).
