Specialty fibres focus has made Lenzing ‘resilient’

Revenue rose by 1.8% to €560 million in the first quarter compared with the same three months last year.
Stefan Doboczky, CEO of the Austrian group, said: “Our specialty fibre business is still developing very well, which has made us significantly more resilient today than only a few years ago. In order to become even more resistant to market fluctuations, we continue to advance the implementation of the sCore TEN strategy and the major projects in Brazil and Thailand.”
Its new site in new lyocell plant in Prachinburi, near Bangkok, is making good progress as is the pulp plant in Minas Gerais.
A fire at the site in Heiligenkreuz, Austria, in February caused lyocell production to close for several weeks but production is now running at full capacity.
