Lenzing to ‘pursue its own path’ to sustainable viscose

Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing has announced that its Chinese subsidiary, Lenzing Nanjing Fibres (LNF), will no longer be a part of the Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose.

This initiative was officially launched in March 2018. It brought together ten of the leading viscose producers in China in an effort to make the industry more sustainable.

Announcing LNF’s departure from the initiative, Lenzing said: “As a sustainability leader in the industry, the Lenzing Group will now pursue its own path in collaborating with the entire value chain to green up the industry and thus expand the company’s position. This cooperation will involve forest owners, spinners, weavers and knitters, fabric makers as well as brands and retailers selling products made from wood-based fibres.”
