Packed programme for Techtextil Forum
19/03/2019
The Techtextil Forum will run during all four days of the event. It is free of charge to all visitors to the fair.
On the first day, the focus will be on sustainability, with speakers drawn from organisations such as the Hohenstein Institute, Belgian research and design centre CENTEXBEL and the France-based IRT Jules Verne Research Institute.
Day two will put the spotlight on textiles in urban spaces, reflecting a special event taking place at Techtextil called ‘Urban Living – City of the Future’. Contributors will include Penn Textile Solutions, Karl Mayer and the Institute for Textile Machinery and Textile High Performance Materials Technology, part of the Technical University of Dresden.
The afternoon of the second day will be devoted to smart textiles. Centexbel will again feature, alongside French start-up Genius Objects and the Textile Research Institute of Saxony (STFI).
The two topics covered on day three will be digitalisation and high-tech textiles for use in medicine.
The Forum will return to the topic of sustainability on the final day of the exhibition, with a session supported by the Dornbirn Global Fibre Congress (GFC). A representative from Lenzing will be among the presenters, with the University of Maastricht and the University of Ljubljana also represented.
