Visitor numbers down at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

It marked the second time it was held in Denver, Colorado following its move from its long-term home in Salt Lake City. The inaugural Denver show in 2018 attracted more than 26,000 visitors.
More than 1,400 brands exhibited at this edition, including over 250 who took part for the first time. Among the other events that took place during the exhibition were a Demo Experience and the handing out of this year’s Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Awards.
“The outdoor industry comes together at Outdoor Retailer – it’s the place to connect face-to-face, to build relationships and share ideas, and that’s just what we did at Summer Market,” said Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer show director.
“Throughout the week, we also had a chance to discover exciting new gear, plus celebrate those who are inspiring us, and we were proud to continue to take steps to reduce our environmental impact.”
Ms Nicholson makes reference here to the organiser’s efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastics at the exhibition. This included partnering with reusable drinks container brand Nalgene to give all attendees a water bottle, which they could fill up at free water stations located throughout the Colorado Convention Centre.
