Outdoor Retailer organiser announces reshuffle

Tradeshow organiser Emerald Expositions has confirmed that its vice-president Darrell Denny, who oversees the Outdoor Retailer exhibitions, will leave the company on May 24.

Mr Denny is in charge of the group’s sports division, which includes Outdoor Retailer and other events like bicycle-focused show Interbike. Emerald announced in November that the 2019 Interbike show would not take place. There has also been much debate in the industry over the scheduling of the three Outdoor Retailer events. 

Speaking to specialist bicycle industry media, Mr Denny said: “I appreciate the many years at Emerald and am thankful I got to work in markets I care about and with really smart, hardworking teammates. I am leaving with nothing but gratefulness and am excited about what I might do next.”

Joe Randall, another of Emerald’s vice-presidents, will take over responsibility for its sports tradeshows.
