Black Diamond climbs into performance footwear

The collection includes technical performance and performance lifestyle models. Among the qualities the brand has highlighted are precision edging, compression fit and “unparalleled” comfort.
Black Diamond said the shoes have been engineered for different activities, such as speed approaches, climbing and gym training. They feature new proprietary rubbers compounds that provide enhanced grip.
“Black Diamond’s spring’20 performance footwear collection is an obvious extension of our climbing shoe line,” said Derek Gustafson, Black Diamond’s footwear category director. “With every new product that we bring to the market, our intention is to make it better. For performance footwear, specifically technical and lifestyle categories, we feel there is a hole in the market and an opportunity for new technology.”
