Concept III reacts to trade show moves
The president of textile solutions provider Concept III has welcomed the news that Outdoor Retailer (OR) will be cancelling its November 2019 show in favour of focusing on its January 2020 edition.

David Parkes said Concept III has been a prominent supporter of OR’s shows but it makes sense to focus on a winter show solely in January, “so as not to thin themselves out”.

OR announced it will unite Winter Market and Snow Show into a single event, Outdoor + Snow Show, between January 29 and 31, 2020 in Denver.

“OR is an excellent show, and it provides incredible opportunities for attendees and exhibitors alike, and we’ll continue to attend for years to come,” added Mr Parkes. “But having three shows a year, especially a November show focused on consumer goods, meant textile-based, business-to-business companies like Concept III were getting lost in the crowd.”

He added that the new fabrics focused fair, Functional Fabric Fair Portland, which will take place on October 22 and 23, is much needed. The show will cater for textile mills, fabric suppliers and service providers as well as manufacturers, purchasers and decision makers. Functional Fabric Fair held its second edition, in New York, in July.

“The North American market has been in dire need of a show of this stature,” said Mr Parkes. “I’m excited about the timing, and I’m confident this show will establish the new framework for events for the functional textile and performance apparel industries.”
