Nike names innovation centre after longtime collaborator
The LeBron James Building, named after two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time NBA champion LeBron James, is the sixth new building at Nike’s world headquarters campus since it started an extension project in 2015.

Nike's advanced innovation team, comprising of scientists, designers and engineers, will call the building home.

It will also house a new Nike Sport Research Lab, five times the size of the team’s current space, and facilities will include a full NBA-size basketball court, a 200-metre endurance track, a 100-metre running track and an artificial turf training pitch.

There will be a 16% incline ramp just outside the building, extending more than 500 feet, to offer athletes an opportunity for training on campus without natural hills.

"It's been an honour to be a part of such a great company for the last 18 years. And to know that a building with my name will reside on campus – I feel truly special," said Mr James.

The building, along with the previously announced Serena Williams building, is expected to open next year.
