ISKO’s SS21 fabric collection developed with R-Two Programme

Denim manufacturer ISKO has heavily incorporated its R-Two programme in its fabrics collection for spring-summer 2021, demonstrating, it has said, a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

The R-Two programme has been developed to deliver sustainable approaches that tackle over-sourcing, with the objective of improving the environmental impact of yarn-to-fabric production. In keeping with ISKO’s Responsible Innovation approach, the programme reduces the amount of raw material sourced by relying on a blend of reused cotton and recycled polyester.

The reused cotton comes from the wastage created during processing cotton fibre into yarn - according to the company, it is approximately 10% of waste for every 100 kilos of cotton -  adding it back into the spinning process, ultimately obtaining cotton that is fully traced, documented and audited.

The recycled polyester comes from clear plastic bottles and other certified waste, collected, sorted and cleaned, before ultimately being ground into plastic pellets that can be re-spun into new fibre filaments.
