ISPO Award winners named ahead of show
A panel of 42 experts from 13 countries have named this year’s ISPO Award winners, with Gold category products including Adidas Terrex’s Futurecraft.Loop jacket.

Nearly 100 products from 430 submissions will receive Product of the Year, Gold Winner or Winner.

Nominations were evaluated during a three-day meeting. Beforehand, some of the judges took part in experience days that gave them the opportunity to try out the winter sports, outdoor and fitness products.

A separate jury of experts evaluated the sustainability aspects of the products.

"We had some very lively discussions and some really close decisions,” said Franziska Zindl, who oversees the ISPO Awards. “All of the submitted products demonstrated the extent to which the industry has adapted to social changes and consumer needs. We also clearly saw the entire industry’s growing commitment to sustainability issues.”

Adidas Futurecraft.Loop jacket is undyed and made of 100% recycled polyester, which in theory means it is easy to recycle. Only ocean-bound plastic provided by Parley is used, including in the insulation from PrimaLoft (see the current issue of WSA).

Other Gold winners include The North Face, Black Diamond Equipment, Helly Hansen and Houdini.

Visitors attending ISPO Munich from January 26 to 29 will be able to see the award-winning products in Hall B1. Product of the Year will be announced at the official awards ceremonies.
