Ocean plastic gets a starring role at awards ceremony
The trophies at the UK’s Fashion Awards 2020 will be made from material from Parley for the Oceans – plastic recycled from ocean or coastline plastic rubbish – and 3D printed by design specialist Nagami.

Each trophy is made from the equivalent of about 75 plastic bottles.

Parley’s CEO, Cyrill Gutsch, said: “We are honoured to be given the opportunity by the British Fashion Council – it’s a trophy that stands as a symbol of change.

“The fashion community can drive the movement. Purpose is the new luxury; survival and future materials is the super trend. Together we can bring change and help protect the most fragile ecosystems, the oceans and our planet.”

BFC CEO Caroline Rush is on the advisory board of Parley for the Oceans. The awards will take place online on December 3.
