EOCA encouraged by progress and participation

The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has reported increased participation in various sustainability initiatives, including ongoing ones and those centered on ISPO 2020.

The group's Conservation Fundraiser, which will be held at their ISPO stand to raise money for conservation projects, has been receiving a growing number of donations. Among the contributions: ice spikes, hats, hammocks, mosquito nets and a number of reusable cups, mugs and bottles.

EOCA has also reported growth in sign-ups for the Plastic Pledge, which commits exhibitors to provide a source of drinking water on their stands, encourage the use of reusable mugs and crockery/cutlery items and eliminate single-use plastic on their stands.

Launched at Outdoor by ISPO in 2019, the pledge is being taken by the original signees plus a boost of 57% for a total of 70 signees to date. This year, EOCA is also encouraging support from visitors to ISPO in Munich, who they hope will bring their own mugs, refuse single-use plastics and sign the pledge for individuals at the group’s stand.
