Advansa acquisition gives polyester group global reach
31/01/2020
Sverige expects the investment to create a larger polyester group with global reach, with plants in Europe and Asia and the potential to grow its portfolio of products.
All intellectual property, equipment, technology, brands and trademarks from Advansa will remain with the group, which includes the rights to former DuPont polyester technology and brands in Greater Europe. The group’s approximately 165 employees will also stay on.
APF, which is headquartered in Indonesia, manufactures and markets polyester chips, staple fibres, filament yarns and fleece fabrics along with captive purified terephthalic acid.
Dr. Heinz Meierkord, who continues as CEO of Advansa, said the sale “enables the future of polyester manufacturing at our plant in Hamm, Germany, and provides opportunities for further investment and growth to serve our customers globally”.
He added that customer supply and marketing and sales activities will continue as usual under new ownership via Advansa Marketing, while trademark licenses to customers via the group remain valid.
