H&M chooses algae-based foam
Retailer H&M has produced a summer collection for children that is made from “more sustainable” materials, including recycled cotton, organic cotton and recycled polyester.

Sandals are made with Bloom foam, based on algae-blended EVA.

Sofia Löfstedt, head of kidswear design at H&M, said: “This summer is all about that surf vibe- colourful, spirited and spontaneous with the eye-catching tie-dye or palm prints.

"We’re also really excited that we have included Bloom foam, which uses an innovative technology to not only create a more sustainable material, but also contribute to minimising pollution for a better future.”

Earlier this month, US-based Algix, maker of Bloom, appointed Chuck Mason from Gore-Tex as its president and CEO.
