Carbon footprint of recycled spandex is 67% lower

Spandex producer Hyosung has completed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) exercise to compare the environmental performance of its 100% recycled creora regen spandex to that of its virgin creora spandex.

Third-party certifier, Networks Y, a Korean LCA consultancy, carried out the LCA, assessing both fibres from pre-manufacturing to the manufacturing stage.

The study concluded that creora regen spandex has a carbon footprint that is approximately 67% lower than that of creora spandex.
