Hyosung to launch regen ocean line in Denver
25/05/2022
The developments on display will include the company's 100% recycled Mipan regen ocean nylon fibre, which is Global Recycled Standard certified, plus 100% recycled regen ocean polyester, itself certified to Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) standard. Mipan regen ocean nylon is also on track to receive OBP certification during the first quarter of 2023, Hyosung said.
Whereas Mipan regen ocean nylon is created from discarded nylon fishing nets and other forms of reclaimed nylon waste by way of chemical recycling, regen ocean polyester is derived from ocean plastic such as transparent plastic bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Global marketing director for textiles, Mike Simko, commented: “Cleaning up our oceans is of critical importance to Hyosung and many of our brand partners. Our ocean-based recycled fibre offering will allow brands to develop eco-friendly products that align with their sustainability needs and also help provide them with a meaningful story their consumers can connect with.”
Other Hyosung products to be exhibited at the show include creora regen spandex, creora bio-based spandex, Mipan regen robic, xanadu mechanical-stretch fibre and regen xanadu.
