Hyosung’s xanadu in step with active commuters

Wrinkle resistant and quick drying, with rapid moisture transport and positive colour retention, Hyosung is also able to supply regen xanadu, which it described as an eco-friendlier version, blended from recycled PET (rPET) and corn-based materials.
Global marketing director at the firm, Mike Simko, attributed the fibre’s balance of stretch, recovery, fit and comfort to its reported success in the market so far. “It’s a great solution for performance apparel styles like commuter pants, joggers and workout tops that want more of a comfort stretch garment than high control,” he commented.
Hyosung recently went public with a third party-verified life-cycle assessment (LCA) for its Global Recycled Standard-certified 100% recycled regen polyester fibres, created from rPET, which found that for every single kilogram of regen polyester produced, carbon dioxide emissions are slashed by 66.5%, fossil fuel usage is cut by 80% and the use of water is reduced by 71% (all when compared to figures for virgin polyester).
The company’s xanadu portfolio, along with creora regen spandex, creora biobased spandex and regen multifunction yarns will all be on display at booth 604 during the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, Oregon, from April 4 to 5.
Hyosung will also attend the upcoming Performance Days exhibition in Munich between April 27 and 28.
