Seoul-based fashion retailer TopTen10 has entered into an agreement with local fibre producer Hyosung TNC to jointly develop new materials and “eco-friendly” products, South Korean media have reported. 

TopTen10’s activewear line, Balance, was a core part of the deal, which also involved a commitment to accelerate the creation of new collections using Hyosung’s proprietary regen fibre, derived from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET). 

Shinsung Trading, the company behind TopTen10, commented that the two organisations have already been working together to develop “eco-friendly materials and functional fabrics” to further strengthen its main lines, one of which is Balance. 

It added that the retailer had already made strides towards sustainability by incorporating recycled and organic fibres, in addition to replacing single-use plastic bags with corn-derived bioplastics back in 2019.
