Surf brand Billabong and denim company Wrangler have teamed up for a second collection, which will be launched on September 14.
The companies said parallels between surf culture and western culture, as well as the respective stories of the two brands, make the partnership a perfect match.
This collection, made from organic cotton, recycled PET and hemp, takes inspiration from Wrangler’s connection to cowboys and rodeos and was a first in terms of material blends for Billabong.
Holly Wheeler, vice-president of global brand marketing for Wrangler, said: "Whether you are passionate about rodeo or waves, a love of the great outdoors brings us all together.
“As we continue to offer new clothes thanks to meaningful collaborations, it's great to work with a brand like Billabong who aligns with our values and has been inspired by our products from the start.”
Allison Roberts, head of women’s creative Billabong Women, added: “Just like a denim designer is obsessed with creating comfortable jeans, we as a surf brand are obsessed with making the best produced around the ocean. The result is a collection of weathered clothing, timeless denim pieces, surf campaign and timeless bikinis."
