Huzhou to host BRI-centric textile conference
The Chinese city of Huzhou, located in northern Zhejiang province, is set to host the 2021 Belt and Road Textile Conference on October 15.

According organisers, the event will delve into the subject of “sustainable” trade and investment exchanges.

It is specifically targeted at national-level government representatives (not only from within China, but also from among the so-called “belt and road” or BRI countries), industry-wide associations and prominent textile entrepreneurs, local media explained.

China’s government-spearheaded Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a large-scale infrastructure development strategy involving 70 networked countries. The BRI is widely considered to be a flagship policy of the nation’s current president, Xi Jinping.

Reports from within the country suggest that the primary intention behind the conference is to establish long-term objectives for the ongoing development of BRI-wide textile industry cooperation.
