Filo gets ready to spotlight knitting in Milan

The fifty-sixth edition of yarns and fibres trade show Filo will take place in Milan from September 29 through 30.

This year’s fair will have a particular emphasis on traceability and sustainability, organisers said.

On the recommendation of Filo’s creativity and style manager, Gianni Bologna, the exhibition will also feature an area exclusively dedicated to knitting for the first time.

Mr Bologna commented: “Yarns for knitting have always been present in the collections of Filo’s exhibiting companies. With the support of the fashion industry, which for at least two years now has been reporting an increase in garments made in circular and flat knits, from now on there will be an area appropriate to knitting’s importance at Filo.”

Diesel sustainability ambassador, Andrea Rosso, is one of several speakers set to participate, with Austrian fibre producer Lenzing, Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei and the European Confederation of Flax and Hemp also due to attend as exhibitors.
