Gore officially partners Fashion For Good

Amsterdam-based Fashion For Good, a global initiative which aims to support companies throughout the fashion supply chain in working with technology providers to make clothing more sustainable, has formally announced its partnership with Gore Fabrics, home to the Gore-Tex brand.

Sustainability leader for the Gore Fabrics division, Ross MacLaine, described its environmental goals as follows: “Specific initiatives include ambitious and absolute carbon goals, dedication to reducing chemical footprint, a focus on long-lasting product performance, a broad social compliance programme and an increasing focus on the circular economy.

“The collaboration with Fashion For Good enables us to build on all these areas, which align with our work on materials in the circular economy.”

Managing director at Fashion For Good, Katrin Ley, commented that Gore Fabrics would be received as a welcome addition to its innovation platform. She added that the division’s “wealth of technical expertise and knowledge” will be central to “driving systemic change” across the fashion industry.

As an affiliate partner of Fashion For Good, Gore Fabrics will now gain what the initiative described as specialised support and preferential access to market-ready innovations through membership of its network.
