BlackYak and Gore-Tex unveil K-Gore
As reported by sportstextiles back in July, South Korean outdoor label BlackYak has partnered Gore-Tex on a technical collaboration named K-Gore.

A spokesperson for the Korean label told reporters that, following an initial pilot of the technology in the form of an M Summit GTX jacket in several colourways (pictured in black), the company plans to expand K-Gore across multiple products.

It is the latest development in BlackYak’s efforts to expand its Plustic (derived from K-rPET) collection in its home country.

To create K-Gore products, Gore-Tex's membrane technology has been laminated to the jacket’s Plustic outer shell, with a seam-sealing method applied to the entire seam to enhance its waterproof function. The jacket also features a high neck, hood and “antibacterial” pockets.

Local media said that the jacket had special meaning in the sense that it reportedly offers a function-first fit (primarily from Gore-Tex's technology), plus nods to environmental considerations through its employment of Plustic.
