BlackYak chair among top global sustainability leaders
The Korean Association for Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals for the United Nations (ASD) has ranked Kang Tae-sun, chairman of Seoul-based outdoor brand BlackYak, twentieth in its list of top 100 global sustainability leaders.
Mr Kang was the only Korean to make the list, local media said. The news reportedly marks the second consecutive year in which the businessman has been named to the organisation’s top 100.
“Business and the environment are compatible and BlackYak’s sustainable innovations have been recognised once again,” Mr Kang commented.
The brand itself was selected as one of the top 40 global sustainable brands by ASD, making the cut along with others including adidas and Balenciaga.
Based on analysis of 2,000 global business leaders and 3,000 major global companies, ASD took almost one year to create its list, which uses 10 criteria and 43 performance indicators to rank individuals and companies.
