Allbirds pops up in Gangnam style
The South Korean arm of US brand Allbirds, best known for its casual footwear formed from natural materials, has opened the company’s first ever Korean pop-up store (pictured) in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
Located on the fourth floor of the Shinsegae department store, the pop-up will be operational until October 31, local media said.
Described as a microcosmic interpretation of the brand’s Garosu-gil (also in Gangnam) boutique, which opened earlier this year, the recently established temporary location reportedly offers both footwear and apparel, including activewear (which Allbirds launched last month).
Korean media said that the company also plans to expand its performance apparel and footwear lines by the end of the year, including shoes designed to have an “upgraded” appearance, as well as new technical elements and colours.
Allbirds’ presence on the Korean Peninsula is currently limited to the aforementioned Garosu-gil flagship and temporary Gangnam pop-up store, but the brand also offers South Korean customers a country-specific online shopping experience operated by its San Francisco headquarters.
