NexTex offers Outdoor Retailer preview

Atlanta-based textile technology developer NexTex Innovations recently announced its plans to present its new TurboDry Warm collection at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Snow Show in Denver, Colorado, currently scheduled to take place from January 26 through 28.

NexTex explained that this latest collection draws from its patented TurboDry fabric construction, itself inspired by the capillary action which encourages water up from a tree’s roots and stems to the rest of the plant. TurboDry technology, then, works in a similar way to draw moisture away from the skin to maintain dryness, warmth, comfort and, ultimately, the body’s core temperature.

The new TurboDry Warm/TurboDry Warm Dynamic collection incorporates six NexTex fabric groups: Dynamic, Loop Fleece, Winter Legging, Wool Blends, Lamination and Winter Natural.

NexTex’s Dynamic textile collection harnesses infrared yarn to capture body heat for added warmth, whereas its Loop Fleece fabrics are “engineered to reduce microplastic shedding” and, according to the company, best suited for technical hoodies and breathable midlayers. The Loop Fleece group of textiles have all been designed for modularity.

Meanwhile, the Winter Legging fabrics feature both patented moisture management and patented stretch and recovery performance. The firm’s natural fibre-powered Wool Blends are intended for midlayers and baselayer tops, it said, with the Lamination collection more geared towards soft shells and windproof layers as a result of a multi-layered combination of unspecified performance materials.

Finally, Winter Natural encompasses various weights and focuses on cotton, modal, lyocell and rayon (plus acrylic) content, meant to enhance warmth and provide a soft hand-feel.

Company chief executive, Chad Lawrence, commented: “We are excited to include our Warm collection in our extensive TurboDry technology portfolio, developed to provide consumers with the most comfortable and sustainable performance textiles.”
