Huntsman implements water saving at dye facility
Singapore-based chemicals maker Huntsman Textile Effects has implemented a water conservation process at its Baroda facility, in India, with the aim of saving 76 kilo litres of water per day as well as $146,000 a year for the organisation.
Mark Devaney, vice-president of manufacturing and operations excellence at Huntsman Textile Effects, said: “The team has done a detailed assessment of the pH analysis process in dye vessels, mapping the existing water usage and potential conservation method.
"We were able to adjust the phase sequence, resulting in conservation of reverse osmosis water by almost 76 kilo litres of water per day.”
Kavishwar Kalambe, site director, added: “This project directly contributes to Huntsman’s Horizon 2025 goals to reduce net water usage at facilities in water-stressed regions.”
